Borrowdale United Football Club had 5 games last week their Senior Men’s side took on Worsthorne and lost 4-1. Scott Threlfall scored the goal, Christian Green was The Man of the Match.

They then took on Enfield losing 4-2 the goals scored by Jordan Hanley and Mark Philips, the Man of the match was Antony Young.

Our Ladies side took on Springfields losing 3-1, Sarah Darcy scored the goal and Chantel Lingard was The Player of the Match.

Then they played Wigan losing 3-0 in a game that was closer than the score suggests, Sarah Darcy was The Player of the Match.

U/16’s lost 6-1 to Burnley Rangers, Zach Shackley scored the goal and Dion Clegg was The Man of the Match.

Borrowdale United Football Club had 5 games last weekend their Senior Men’s side lost 6-2 when they played Goodshaw, Mark Philips and Scott Threlfall scored the goals, Andy Dumon was The Man of the Match.

Then they took on Bacup CC winning 3-2, Mark Philips (2) and Jon McCann scored the goals, Scott Threlfall who was a giant at the back and constantly encouraging the team to go forward was The Man of the Match.

Uniteds Ladies lost 2-0 when they took on Bolton Ladies, United had much of the possession during the whole game but failed to find the net, the visitors had 2 chances and scored them both. The Player of the Match was Melissa Kelly.

Uniteds U/16’s lost 6-1 to Belvedere, Anthony Bradley scored the goal and Daniel Martin was The Man of the Match.

Then they were held to a 2-2 draw with Clitheroe Wolves, Anthony Bradley scored both and Dion Clegg was The Man of the Match.

Borrowdale United Football Club had 3 games last weekend their Senior Men’s side had a hard earned 3-2 victory over bottom side Bacup CC. United made hard work of it right from the start, they missed so many good chances to find the back of the net. In the end the goals came from Antony Young 2, and 1 from Andy Dumon. The powerful Christian Green was the Man of the Match.

United’s Senior Ladies side took on Warrington winning 2-0 with the 4 new signings coming in and settling in very well, Kayleigh Mulholland scored both goals. The Player of the Match was Steph Young.

Under 16 lost 5-1 to Huncoat, James Molloy scored the goal and Ryan Bench was The Man of the Match.

Borrowdale United FC had 2 games last weekend their Senior Men’s side lost 8-4 to Mill Hill. In a high scoring game the Burnley side didn’t start playing until the second half kicked off, and by that time it was too late. The Man of the Match Antony Young hit 2, with 1 each from Mark Philips and Chris Walker.

United’s Ladies side took on Burscough losing 6-2. The Player of the Match Cheryl Warren and Sarah McCabe scored the goals. United played some nice football at times and had the chances but just could not find the net.

Borrowdale United FC had 3 games last weekend their Senior side took on Oswaldwistle St Mary’s and after a couple of very good performances over the last couple of weeks hit rock bottom again losing 5-0. It takes a while for new players to settle in but this performance was well below par. United made 4 or 5 chances but just could not find the back of the net. The Man of the Match was Andy Dumon.

Our Senior Ladies sie took on Bolton Ambassadors losing 5-2, the goals came from an og and a great strike from Sarah McCabe. Kayleigh Mulholland was The Player of the Match.

Uniteds U/16’s took on Oswaldtwistle and were held to a1-1 draw, James Molloy scored the goal and Dion Clegg was The Man of the Match.

Borrowdale United Football Club had 2 games last weekend their Senior Men’s side took on high flying Read beating them convincingly 4-0, United thoroughly deserved this win with some good football the new signings fit in well, Adam Crouch-Wood came of the bench to score twice, debutant Drew Moreland with a 30 yard screamer and Man of the Match Mark Philips with a goal. United’s other debut boy Chris Porter showed lots of promise and was very unlucky on 3 occasions.

U/16’s were held to a 2-2 draw when they took on Gt Harwood, Dion Clegg and The Man of the Match Zack Shakley scored the goals.

Borrowdale United Football Club had just the one game last weekend their Senior Men’s side took on high flying Langho losing 9-1. United took the lead in the first 15 minutes and looked good for their lead, but Langho started to take control and United did not have the answers, Greg Toothill scored the goal and new signing Darren Whittaker was The Man of the Match.

Borrowdale United Football Club had 2 games last weekend their Senior Ladies side with only 8 fit players took on Brazil, losing a good game 6-1. In the end it was numbers that beat the Burnley side not skill and effort. Melissa McKay scored the goal and Kayleigh Mulholland was The Player of the Match.

Under 16’s lost 7-0 to high flying Clitheroe, Danny Martin was superb and deserved The Man of the Match Award.

Borrrowdale United FC got back to football last weekend with their Senior Men’s team losing 4-0 to high flying Langho. United’s Man of the Match was Adam Wood.

United’s Open Age Women’s side lost 7-0 to top of the league Morecambe. Sammy Fleck was The Player of the Match. The Burnley side worked hard throughout but were outclassed for most of it.

Under 16 held Rishton to a 2-2 draw, with Craig Martin and Josh Holmes scoring the goals, James Wilde was the Man of the Match

Burnley Borrowdale United Football Club had 1 game survive the bad weather last weekend their Open age ladies side lost 13-0 to Wigan , Nicky Cassidy was The Litten Tree Player of the Match. United already decimated with injuries ended the game with 8 players.
