Burnley Borrowdale United Football Club had 7 games last week their Senior Men’s team losing their first three games the only consolation is that two of these games were great games of football against last seasons league champions Rimington 4-0 and 2-1 respectively. The latter was at Rimington and the United with a bare 11 players actually deserved something for their effort. Both teams had many chances. The Man of the match was Mark Harrison and the goal scorer was captain Ash Williams from the spot..
The Open Age Women’s side took on Chorley losing a very good competitive match 2-1, Rachel Walker scored the goal and Michelle Grimes was The Player of the Match.
Then they went to Wigan with an injury ravaged side and lost 5-0, Michelle Grimes was once again The Player of the Match.
The Under 16 Girls side took on AGSA and lost 9-5, the game was much closer than the score suggests. Meghan Wilson scored all 5 and The Player of the Match was Hannah Woods.
Under 15’s lost 10-0 to Belvedere, the Man of the Match was Josh Horner.
Then they lost 7-2 to Oswaldtwistle, Anthony Bradley and The Man of the Match. Dion Clegg scored the goals.
